Christa Lykke Christensen
In her latest book Visuelle følelser (Visual Emotions), she carries out a reception analysis of young people’s perception of visual media. On this empirical basis the book theoretically discusses concepts such as cognition and emotion.
Currently, she is working on the project: Dansk børne- og ungdoms-tv 1951-2000 (Danish television for children and young people 1951-2000) based on historical analyses of programmes. She deals with e.g. changes in the representation of children and young people and the concepts of childhood and youth in Danish television.
She participates in the research project: High-tension Aesthetics. Ethics and Aesthetics in Contemporary Media (2005-2008), financed by the Danish Research Council for the Humanities. Her project is: “Humour in Contemporary Media”,
She participates in the research project: Mediatization of Culture at Department of Media, Cognition, and Communication, Section of Film & Media Studies,
She is director of the research project: Communicating Knowledge in the Public Sphere: Coming to Terms with Experts and Expertise, at Department of Media, Cognition, and Communication,
Furthermore, she has edited several anthologies and contributed to periodicals and anthologies with articles on children and media, on fashion, taste, and style, and on the history of the body and the beautiful reflected in the media.
