Hanne Bruun

Hanne Bruun, born 1963, MA and. Ph.D. in media studies. She is associate professor at department of for Information and Media Studies, University of Aarhus. Research areas are the aesthetics of television, television genres, media history, audience studies and cultural globalisation. Furthermore, text production studies will be an area of interest in the coming years.

Hanne Bruun has published Talkshowet – portræt af en tv-genre (1999) og Daytime Talkshows i Danmark (2004). She has edited and contributed to a number of books e.g. TV 2 på Skærmen (2000), Forskning i mediepolitik - mediepolitisk forskning (2004) and Tv-produktion på nye Vilkår (forthcoming). Furthermore, Hanne Bruun has contributed to a number of books e.g. Dansk Tv-historie 1951-2005 (2006), Cultural Dilemmas in Public Service Broadcasting (2005) and journals e.g. Nordicom Review, Dansk Sociologi and MedieKultur.

Hanne Bruun has participated in different cross-institutional research programmes e.g. The Aesthetics of Television (1993-98) and Media in Globalized Society (1999-2001). For a number of years, she has also for a number of years had co-operation with Danish broadcasters and production companies doing consultant work, lectures and courses.
