The projects focus is on the role of television entertainment. By way of a number of empirical studies of different types of current programmes and new theoretical approaches the project intends to explore the different kinds of experiences that current TV entertainment brings to the audience.
The focus will not solely be on television, as television today often makes use of other secondary interactive media platforms in an attempt to loyalty with the audience. The role of these platforms will be explored as well as the prevailing concepts of entertainment will be challenged through a discussion of entertainment programmes as important providers of specific kinds of social and cultural knowledge.
